Nia's Oath

For all those who choose to join our cause, giving no regard to race no religion, are bonded by a common thread and struggle

"Life"

We are all connected to each other like the links of a chain, no more, no less important than the other.  We are all responsible for uplifting each other, so unity, peace, love, and prosperity be unto all who pass through these doors of opportunity.

The opportunity to begin a new day!

Nia's founding CEO, Derrick Whitaker, and grassroots citizens in High Point, NC organized the Nia Community Action Center,Inc. in 2001.  Mr. Whitaker saw the need for extended community involvement by and for the local citizenry.  NCAC, Inc. implemented prevention/intervention services (transitional housing and street/community outreach) to those who where homeless, at risk for  Syphilis/HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases, and substance abusers.

You will find NCAC, Inc. Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers are dedicated to making our vision of "restoration" become a reality.  Our location is accessible to the community we serve, making it simple to access services.  Our non-traditional approach has impacted many lives of individuals in the community we serve.

On any given day, you may find a handful of clients in our office, some seeking services, and many just needing someone to talk to.  Often our former clients come by to visit, keeping staff informed of their progress, expressing feelings of gratitude for our support.

Nia is a small agency, however, we tackle problems our clients face head on, steppingin to provide client centered solutions.  Our agency realizes that it is imperative to network and develop partnerships to promote awareness and strive together to make a difference in the lives of those often forgotten.

"Empowering Communities, One Person At a Time"
